some projects using docrafts products

the first 4 are made using the bellisima collection

a decoupage topper, and an xcut border punch used on the red paper, white ric rac, and a sentiment, both topper and greeting are mounted onto a spellbinders die cut from holographic silver card

this one is one of the ever popular 'box cards'
also made with a decoupage image , and flowers and leaves either punched or die cut from the matching papers

the label at the back is die cut from the bookplates xcut set, just the right size to write the greeting on

this one is another decoupage card, with a marrianne die cut to back the image, and a spellbinders bow. The lace is from the bellisima set, and the punch used is an xcut border punch

this last one is a spring card, I always think these look good for any occasion

the next 3 are made from the wild rose paper collection

the above card is made using the wild rose collection papers and flowers made from them, one of the beautiful wild rose notelets , with a stamped and decoupaged Gorgus image and a bow from the collection, a panel was cut out from one of the papers, and 2 strips of the fabric tape put on it
then I made an insert to match, leaving blank for any occasion

now for the next one

this one is a favourite of mine, I love exploding boxes, I call this the smiley box, because all the quotes are happy, smiley, and laughter ones.
flowers have been made from the papers, and a bow added to the lid

this is the inside of the box, I made a small pyramid, and covered it with flowers for the centre, and added a butterfly on acetate

some of the quotes

this next one is a wall hanging, the photo does not do it justice, as the background circle looks blue, but is in fact centura pearl white.

I cut various sized circles with the xcut large scallop circle dies from different papers from the collection, and one from pink mirri card, then placed a round notelet from the pack, and cut "Dream" out of an xcut alphabet die from pink and then silver mirri card, the letters were then glued to create a drop shadow effect.
an assortment of butterflies were then die cut and placed around the plaque, a ribbon hanger and a bow added, and finished off with pink liquid pearls around the outer edge.

calender

I have been looking for ages for some of these perpetual calendars, 'cos my daughters all like them, so having found some this is for my youngest 's birthday

have never done the old decopatch thing, so had a try with this

I thought the papers were good for the kitchen diner Kate has, as there are cockerills, chickens, ducks, lambs and spring flowers , am pleased with the result.

a few birdhouses

found these little houses in a sale 4 for £1 so had to get some and play.

pretty in pink

change of colour scheme

thought these papers were nice

these were from a paper pad I had given

also used some butterflies I have had ages, 'cos didn't really like the colours - look ok here though

oak house autumn challenge

the challenge at Oak House Studios is "autumn"

so I have been playing about with inks and stamps, because I love the autumn colours

I sprayed the lemon, orange and lime inks onto my paper, and then sprayed a light mist of gold over the top.

Then I stamped the oak tree  [just the top edge] around the outer edge, then stamped 3 mountain ash leaves, 2 in orange and 1 in mustard and masked them off before stamping the different leaves in chocolate brown.

I coloured the leaves in brown, orange and mustard, then stamped a butterfly from the trio set in brown and coloured with spectrum noire pens, then cut out and placed fluttering over the leaves.

the sentiment was then stamped in chocolate in the top right corner. I apologise it is not quite straight.

oak house alphabetical challenge

this is my entry for the alphabetical challenge over on oak house studio blog

I have used the english country garden word stamp, and the clematis tower.
I stamped the words and the tower in green ink, then painted the leaves in a pearlescent green paint.

then I stamped and embossed in gold powder the clematis tower 3 times, then coloured the flowers with purple pearlescent paint, and touched the stamens in yellow gel pen.

Next I cut all 4 towers out, glued the green one onto my card, then cut the flowers out and
mounted on foam pads, then decoupaged some of the flowers and mounted again on foam pads,
and added a dragonfly brad to one of the flowers.
Then I put gold thread through the sentiment and added to the corner of the card.

oak house sunflower

This is a 6 x 6 card , I haven't put a sentiment on, so whoever buys it can choose what to put on.

I embossed a piece of card and then swiped  it with sepia ink, and placed on the front of the card.
next I used the bamboo trellis stamp from oak house studios, and stamped with sepia ink,
then cut a spellbinders scalloped square out of it. This was then mounted onto a square of gold mirri board
and the corners rounded, then this was placed diamond way up on the card.

I then stamped the oak house studios sunflower 3 times with the sepia ink and embossed with clear embossing powder, then coloured with mica paints and cut out to allow decoupage.
This was placed in the centre of the diamond and stacked with foam pads.
The card was then finished with gold candi in each corner

a couple more cards

the first card is an image stamped and decoupaged, then cut out with a circle die,
which was mounted onto 3 scalloped circles in differing shades of blue,
which were then mounted onto 3 large blue scalloped circles that form a rocker card.
I made some flowers and leaves and put them on, and die cut 'happy birthday'
as the sentiment, then added 3 gems

the 2nd card is a SWALK topper mounted on pink mirri card. A blank white card was punched down the right side with a doily punch, and a strip of white card was double punched, then tiny pink gems added.
this was placed underneath the image on top of pink paper punched at the right again.
I made some flowers and leaves, added them and some buttons and a pink
and white striped bow

oak house studio challenge

the challenge is 'happy ever after'
so this is either a wedding or an anniversary card,
oakhousestudio.blogspot.co.uk

it is an 8 x 8 ivory card, the background is the large walesby heart randomly stamped in silver pigment ink,
then a piece of orange shaded card was run through an embossing folder.

the medium walesby heart was stamped and gilded with silver gilding flakes, as I wanted it to stand out

then the sentiment was stamped in the silver ink and diecut. This was placed in a corner,
then an ivory bow added top left, and pearls to the other 3 corners

a couple more "Summer" cards

hello again, this week I have been making 2 more cards for my grand daughter,
Summer, who will soon be 3.
I find it great that I can make so many cards for one child because I have 4 daughters, and I also make the cards my mum sends, so I can do all sorts of things.

this is the front of the card

and this is the back

a close up. I used the Kanban animal stamps, the Tim Holtz arches, held together with ribbon,

then the grass was cut using a Docrafts border, and bunting was made using Sizzix bunting die and stamp set

the above card is made using Crafters Companion cd and some card from a sweet treats paper and card pack,, it is a good pack for chlidren as it is so bright and cheerful

and this is the last one, from the Crafters Companion Bebunni cd, was pleased with it when I finished, but then looked at the others and thought "Whoops, not quite as complicated as the others", so 1 daughter will think she got the one nobody wanted, so scroll down and see what I made to go with the card

a placemat with her name on it, I just printed it off the cd, added the letters and laminated.
Hope this makes up for the card - what do you think?

Sunday 13 July 2014

another couple of "one stamp" projects

I used the Oak House Studio walesby heart to decorate the jug made from a Dreamees template

I made the jug out of blue card, then matted cream card stamped with the walesby heart,
then I made the lupins from a small flower stamp from Oak House Studios,
the trailing ivy is different size ivy leaves from Oak House again, these are glued onto green memory cord and shaped as required,

the large flowers are the walesby heart layered up, one flower from the medium stamp, and 2 from the small one

I coiled a few pices of green card to add, and some dark green spiked leaves, and the 2 leaf stalks are leaf stamps glued onto a wooden skewer. The lupins are made on skewers too

then I made a christmas tree, by stamping different sized hearts in colour chemistry forest green, and pinning them onto a polystyrene shape, then added tinsel and bows
